On the evolution of the cosmic-mass-density contrast and the cosmological constant

چکیده
We study the evolution of the cosmic mass density contrast beyond the Robertson-Walker geometry including the small contribution of acceleration. We derive a second-order evolution equation for the density contrast within the spherical model for CDM collissionless fluid including the cosmological constant, the expansion and the non-vanishing four-vector of acceleration. While the massdensity is not seriously affected by acceleration, the mass-density contrast changes its shape at smaller redshifts even for a small amount of the acceleration parameter. This could help to resolve current controversial results in cosmology from measurements of WMAP, gravitational lensing, XMM X-ray cluster or type Ia supernovae data, etc.

A Two-fluid Approximation for Calculating the Cosmic Microwave Background Anisotropies
We present a simple, yet accurate approximation for calculating the cosmic microwave background anisotropy power spectrum in adiabatic models. It consists of solving for the evolution of a two-fluid model until the epoch of recombination and then integrating over the sources to obtain the CMB anisotropy power spectrum. The approximation is useful both for a physical understanding of CMB anisotr...
متن کاملObserved Smooth Energy Is Anthropically Even More Likely as Quintessence than as Cosmological Constant
For a universe presently dominated by static or dynamic vacuum energy, cosmological constant (LCDM) or quintessence (QCDM), we calculate the asymptotic collapsed mass fraction as function of the present ratio of vacuum energy to clustered mass, ΩQ0/Ωm0. Identifying these collapsed fractions as anthropic probabilities, we find the present ratio ΩQ0/Ωm0 ∼ 2 to be reasonably likely in LCDM, and ve...
متن کاملThe Global Cosmological Parameters
In these lectures I shall discuss the status of the determination of the three cosmological parameters which enter the Einstein equation and govern geometry and evolution of space-time of the Universe: the Hubble constant H0, the mass density parameter Ω and the cosmological constant λ. Among the three parameters, the Hubble constant is the dimensionfull quantity which sets the basic size and a...

In Wesson's canonical model, the universe is assumed to be five dimensional (5D) empty space time. This model corresponds to a solution of the Einstein field equation in five dimensions which, from a four dimensional point of view, is equivalent to a universe with a positive cosmological constant. In this model, the fifth direction is perpendicular to the four dimensional space time and is not...

Key words cosmology – mass of universe; cosmology – cosmic density; cosmology – density of cosmic matter and vacuum energy The most recently celebrated cosmological implications of the cosmic microwave background studies with WMAP (2006), though fascinating by themselves, do, however, create some extremely hard conceptual challenges for the presentday cos-mology. These recent extremely refined ...
